This past summer, I took an incredible opportunity to work as a production intern at the American Dance Festival. This enriching internship spanned a substantial 55-day duration, encompassing 450 dedicated working hours. Throughout this immersive experience, I had the privilege of engaging with a multitude of dance companies, each offering a unique facet of the performing arts world. During this internship, I was entrusted with a diverse array of responsibilities that underscored the breadth and depth of my involvement. These tasks encompassed a spectrum of roles such as electrics, stage management, lighting design, carpentry, scenic work, light board programming, sound board operation and programming, rigging, wardrobe management, stagehand duties, assistant stage management, projection, and fly and deck rail operations. This comprehensive exposure allowed me to grasp the intricacies of various production aspects, contributing significantly to my holistic understanding of technical theater.

Beyond the invaluable hands-on experience, this internship gave me a unique platform to foster connections and establish meaningful relationships within the industry. Through interactions with accomplished industry professionals, I had the privilege of networking and engaging in insightful conversations, enabling me to gain wisdom and insights. This experience allowed me to deepen my understanding of the specifics of technical theater and dance, and it helped me understand myself and my interpersonal relationship-forming skills.
